We are Monceau Automobiles
Monceau Automobiles creates bespoke electric classic cars based on some of the most iconic Mercedes-Benz models ever built. We combine high-end classic car restoration and craftsmanship with our proprietary electric drivetrain and modern EV technology, while preserving the timeless design, character and elegance of the original car.
Our electric Mercedes-Benz classics offer smooth performance, instant torque, modern charging capabilities, improved reliability and low routine drivetrain maintenance, creating a refined driving experience that feels both classic and contemporary.
We currently specialise in Mercedes-Benz models from the 1960s to the 1980s, including the R107 eSL Roadster, C107 eSLC Coupé and W111 eSE Coupé and Convertible. Each Monceau is fully restored and individually configured to the client’s specifications.
We are currently also working on an electric drivetrain for future classic 4×4 models and for selected projects, we can also explore bespoke electric conversions of other significant classic vehicles.
Craftmanship
Restoration is more than preservation. It is the meticulous reconstruction of a classic to the highest standards, with respect for its original design, materials and character.
Every Monceau begins with a complete bare-metal restoration. The vehicle is carefully dismantled, inspected and rebuilt from the ground up. Each component is restored, refinished, rebuilt or replaced where necessary, while specialist craftsmanship is applied to areas such as bodywork, paint, chrome, wood and interior trim.
At the same time, the car is re-engineered around our proprietary electric drivetrain. This integration is carried out with the same attention to detail as the restoration itself, ensuring that new technology becomes a natural part of the car rather than an addition to it.
The result is a timeless classic that retains its original elegance and soul, while offering the quality, reliability and usability required to be driven, enjoyed and cherished for decades to come.
